This week?s songs are both road-trip worthy. I would start the trip with Sleigh Bells? excellent Rill Rill and continue the night drive with Lykke Li?s Unrequited Love. Both songs have that sing-along quality that we?ll all appreciate.
I am on a big Sleigh Bells groove and their single Rill Rill off their previous album Treats is a real musical treat. It?s the sort of song that has roots that grow deep. I can?t get the line ?Wonder what your boyfriend thinks about your braces. What about them? I am all about them..? out of my head. It?s strange and funny at the same time because I never wore braces?
This haunting track from Lykke Li is perfect background soundtrack as you sit with a glass of hot tea and just stare outside. It?s sad and catchy at the same time ? unrequited love?s the worst and we can all relate. There is a layered quality about this song that warrants repeat plays.
