What is Copy Writing?

?Copy? is written text, in the sales world. This can mean web sites, e-mails, sales letters? Any written word planned to sell something or get a result.

So ?copywriting? is as it sounds, writing copy.

But only a few know how to write killer copy that really sells, so here are some basic pointers to help.

Be Yourself

First and foremost, always be yourself. You can study and implement these copywriting tips, however it won?t be real to your reader if you are not being yourself. People like to buy from who they like. They would like to deal with a real person, not a canned sales routine.

Let the real you come out in your writing. Do not be shy about it. If you?re genuine, and the readers can feel it, your copy will always perform better. You?ll sponsor more distributors into your multi level marketing company, or sell more products.

Write How You Talk

People don?t talk the way that they write. Yet too many times, when writing copy, we try and make everything brilliantly professional and grammatically correct. And that?s fine, depending on the intention of what we are writing.

Sales copy in multilevel marketing is designed to persuade folks to become a part of your team. To join you as a coach or upline. To grow a relationship. In fact , that is what multi level marketing is really about.

So if you need the reader to become comfortable, start to know you and to be open to your direction, you had better write to them like you would if you were speaking to them.

You see, when we read, we hear it in our mind. When we read something that sounds sterile and perfect, we do not have the chance to bond with the writer. Imagine having someone walk over to you at a party and start speaking that way. You?d likely quickly excuse yourself and marvel at how unusual it was! And you definitely would not buy anything from them.

Now imagine a real cool person comes up, is comfortable, causes you to feel at ease. They chat to you in regular words, with normal slang, takes an interest in you and has fascinating stuff to say. You can immediately like and connect to that person. Likewise, if your sales copy can convey that same feeling, readers become customers or team members.

So write like you speak, no matter how bad it is.

Tell a Story

People like to hear stories. They love to be entertained. They will pay attention if you interest them.

Most copy writers tell stories that their readers can relate to on a very personal level. By understanding what your prospects? experiences might be, you can write about your own experiences that they can empathize with.

So if your message is about a product that will help fix a real struggle they are having, tell them about your similar experience and how this resolved it. Or about somebody you know and managed to help. Give them some background so that you are relate-able to them.

Do not simply pitch features and benefits in bullet points. It will not create the emotional connection that you want to have with your audience.

The Call to Action

Advertising 101 here, but too frequently overlooked. Never, never, never fail to give a clear, firm call to action. Tell the reader precisely what to do next. Click This. Join Now. Begin Here. Watch this Video.

Whatever you want them to do, you need to TELL them. It isn?t being dominating or rude. Remember, they are reading your sales piece because they have a problem you are addressing. They have come to you for direction. For guidance. Don?t let them down.

A call to action is a reply to their call for help! Never produce any advertising piece without one.
